Privacy in Your Time of Need

One of the most important tools in our arsenal for dealing with biohazards is our understanding that sometimes there will be a need or desire to ensure the privacy of our customers. If a traumatic event has occurred, it can be incredibly painful to also have to endure a public spectacle. And if you own property where biohazards need to be removal, it is best not to let this be known.

In this situation, it can be helpful to have professional and discreet assistance. At Bio Scene Cleanup we have the skills to remove a biohazard quickly and safely. This means that things will be back to normal in the shortest timeframe possible. This gives you the peace of mind of knowing that it will not be a protracted and messy experience for you. Once the cleanup begins, it will be completed quickly and quietly.  Aside from the obvious privacy benefit of having the cleanup done quickly, cleanup can be done in unmarked vehicles. Cleanup of crime scene or human remains can be a somewhat difficult subject to approach, so this gives you the freedom of deciding when and how to engage in that conversation if you wish to.

Discreetly performed cleanup also means that those involved will not be forced to undergo any additional trauma. A large part of hiring a team to professionally clean is the ability for those involved to not have to be exposed to or relive potential trauma. So it is critical that the cleanup be performed in a manner that will not put those involved in that situation.

If you are a business owner, it is doubly important that you prevent unfortunate events from being broadcasted. It is understandably difficult to sell someone a car or condo they have seen a biohazard team working on. Even if people know that something is clean or sanitary, they might still be reluctant to use it if they know its history. This means that if you need to dispose of a biohazard, your best bet is to ensure that there are no obvious markers that this is going on. No one likes the idea that a body may have once been in the space they are using, and some people would prefer not to think about the realities of life and death. We take precautions to ensure that when necessary, our clients have the option of privacy.

Safety When Handling Biological Waste

Safety When Handling Biological Waste

Generally, the most important reason to hire a professional cleanup crew when dealing with biological waste is the danger posed by bodily fluids and residue. Aside from any squeamishness you may feel when dealing with biological remains, improper cleanup of biological contamination can be a huge health hazard. If things are not cleaned completely and sanitized thoroughly, you could put yourself or family members at risk of disease or health problems. Abiohazard. Professionals will always use the appropriate cleanup gear to protect themselves, and will also have all equipment that is needed to properly sanitize an area, leaving no trace.  Here are a few of the risks of cleaning up biohazard scenes if you are not properly prepared.

additionally, if you rent out a space, you could be liable if you expose your tenants to a biohazard. Professionals will always use the appropriate cleanup gear to protect themselves, and will also have all equipment that is needed to properly sanitize an area, leaving no trace.  Here are a few of the risks of cleaning up biohazard scenes if you are not properly prepared.

Disease Transmission

Exchange of bodily fluids with an infected person is a huge and potent vector for disease transmission. Generally, the fluid that poses the most risk to others is blood. The CDC recommends strict caution be taken when dealing with the blood of any person. Exposure could put you at risk for exposure to viruses like HIV, hepatitis, and more. However, many different bodily fluids can transmit disease. While your skin protects you, all it takes is a small unnoticed cut somewhere on your skin for an infection to take place. And for some infections such as HIV, there are no cures available once it has had time to establish itself. Don’t spend the rest of your life regretting trying to clean up a biohazard without the proper training or equipment.

Liability and Long Term Safety

Even if you get through the cleanup without being infected, you are not out of the woods yet. If you did not manage to completely decontaminate the area, you leave open the possibility of future problems stemming from the contamination. Sometimes, less than obvious areas will need to be sanitized. If you are a landlord, the last thing you want is a lawsuit from a tenant who has been infected or exposed to a biohazard as a result of your negligence. And proper cleanup is not just sanitation, but also the removal of unpleasant smells and any other evidence that there was ever a biohazard present. Access to the proper tools and training is critical in quickly and effectively eliminating all residual traces of the biological debris. Take the time to contact and employ a professional to ensure that none of these unpleasant scenarios become a reality for you.

Suicide Cleanup and the Holidays

Holidays are supposed to be a time of great joy and celebration. For many of us they are, but for many people they are anything but joyous. Persons who suffer from depression and mental illness have extreme highs and lows around the holidays. Suicide because of stress and anxiety is something that we don’t want to think of during this time, but we need to learn what to look for and how to help these patients cope.

Bio Scene Clean Up provides Suicide and Death Clean Up services to victims of crime, trauma and tragedy.  We understand the stress and bombardments that media places on people during this time of the year. Seeing families and friends gather with smiling faces can be detrimental to someone suffering from severe depression.  We work directly with family members and property owners who are faced with the responsibility of these types of traumatic events that require biohazard clean up. We maintain  decades of experience in compassionate, discreet and professional services for these situations.

While it’s true suicides tend to drop off right before and during the holidays, there is a 40 percent increase immediately following the holidays. Every year at this time we try to remind our readers about suicide and the devastating effects it can have on those left behind. Sadly, we still receive calls for emergency response suicide and death cleanup.

If you or someone you know is faced with the aftermath of a suicide or death contact us for assistance. We offer emergency response and are available to help if needed. Biohazard Waste Disposal Services

Most people recognize that there are proper procedures that must be followed in transporting and discarding of medical waste.  Occasionally there are some that either choose to ignore the procedures or are simply not educated on the disposal process and don’t realize they are doing anything wrong.

Bio Scene Clean Up provides commercial and residential cleanup services for death, crime, trauma, suicide and other biohazard incidents. Almost every clean up job that we perform contains biohazard waste that much be properly contained, transported and disposed of.  Regulations for biohazard protocols vary by state and can carry sever fines and penalties if not followed.

What you see in this article image is never the proper way to dispose of biohazard waste. Luckily, in this instance, these bags contain regular trash and paper from an office. You should never use biohazard waste bags as normal trash bags.  Red bags marked with a biohazard emblem found like this should be reported to the local health authorities who will investigate to determine who is responsible for the improper disposal and what type of biohazards they actually are.

Biomedical waste is any liquid or solid waste that may present a threat of infection to humans. Liquid waste includes blood and other body fluids from humans. Solid waste includes clothing, towels, rags, sheets, gloves, plastic bags, or any objects soiled with blood, or other body fluids. When biohazard waste is improperly managed , it places sanitation workers and the general public at risk for contracting dangerous diseases. We take every precaution and are certified in the handling, transporting and disposal of biohazard waste

We always suggest that you never attempt to clean these types of scenes yourself as there are very high chances that these scenes contain blood and other pathogens that can be extremely harmful if you come in contact with them.  Most state regulations suggest that you contact a biohazard clean up provider like Bio Scene Clean Up to assist you.

If you see disposal like the one pictured above, or suspect that someone is illegally disposing biohazard materials, we urge you to contact your local health agency (health department) or contact our office to report it.  If this type of disposal process continues, you may be placing your health and the health of others in jeopardy.

Ending Sexual Assault on College Campuses

Sexual assault is a terrible tragedy that happens to thousands of Americans each year. It’s an even more complex tragedy when it is happening more frequently on college campuses across the United States. For most people, the focus tends to be on the victim and the events surrounding the assault. These are very important factors in any assault case however, with every assault there is a huge biohazard potential associated with the crime. Bio Scene Clean Up provides biohazard decontamination from crimes of sexual assault, violent deaths, home invasions and other intense traumas.

After the crime is committed, the biohazards that remain cannot simply be “washed away”. Blood, tissues, bodily fluids and other matter always remain at the crime scene and these biohazards must be properly remediated to avoid the potential of infections and contamination of others.  When sexual assault crimes are committed on college campuses (dorm rooms, public facilities to name a few) it’s important that these scenes be properly cleaned and disinfected. The areas are typically ones that many people are in or around and the risks and health hazards associated with these crimes puts the universities at huge risk for health issues and safety of other students.

Bio Scene Clean Up maintains all necessary permits and certifications to properly clean, disinfect and remove all biohazard materials associated with these and other crime scenes.  We realize that these crimes traumatize many people and work discreetly and professionally to return the sites to a safe, sanitized area as soon as possible.  Each State maintains strict local and federal protocols for proper cleanup and biohazard handling. We arrive on scene with the proper equipment and materials, secure the site to avoid contamination spreading and completely restore the site to a pre-incident, safe condition.

If you are an administrator of faculty member of a College or University, please make sure that you have proper biohazard  handling protocols in place. If not,  create one and include Bio Scene Clean Up as the company to contact for all biohazard cleanup and removal needs that arise.

How hoardings are accumulating Bio-hazard dangers

Hoarding generally occurs by cluttering of materials like garbage, furniture, clothing, flea market / yard sale items and more. Garbage is often considered as the major source for the formation dangerous biohazards associated with hording. Bio Scene Clean Up performs hoarding and gross filth clean up for property owners and individuals who hoard. These hoardings are often very dangerous in congested household environments because the person lives in the contaminated surroundings every day. Hoarding in most cases is an addiction and the hoarder doesn’t realize that they are placing their health and the health of others at great risk.

Our technicians are experienced in disinfecting and sanitation of these types of sites. We maintain all necessary permits for the handling, removal and disposal of materials containing biohazards.  Even though we perform death, trauma and crime scene cleanup services, hoarding cleanup has become more prevalent over the past few decades. Our main objective is to remove the debris, remediate and disinfect the space and return the area to a safe habitable state for the property owner.

Most hoarders do not realize that accumulated garbage is a breeding ground for bacteria that can cause major health complications. It also attracts rodents and insects that carry diseases that can be fatal to the hoarder. In most cases, it is necessary to remove all items from the space in order to properly disinfect and sanitize the structure itself.  Our technicians, in some cases, are able to salvage good pieces of furniture and other household items though the majority of items removed have to be disposed of to rid the risk of further contamination.

If you or someone you know is dealing with a hoarding issue, please contact Bio Scene Clean Up immediately. Our trained technicians can give an on-site assessment and help you develop a plan to eliminate the debris, sanitize the space and protect the health of the hoarder and anyone associated with these conditions.  Many people will not seek the assistance of a professional company because of the stigma associated with hoarding. Bio Scene Clean Up technicians perform gruesome cleanup of death and accident scenes so conditions associated with hoarding are nothing to be ashamed of.  Call us today, we can help.

Unattended deaths rise when there is a seasonal change

In various parts of our country season changes can be extreme. Changing from high temperatures in the summer months to much colder in the fall and winter causes many Americans, especially the elderly to remain indoors for longer periods of time. Even long time Florida residents are susceptible to this during our colder months.

Bio Scene Clean Up provides cleanup for death and trauma scenes. Many of the calls we receive are during these colder months where it is not unusual for someone to not be found until weeks after they have died in their home. Many of the ill and aging do not have family, spouses or even housemates and many die alone at home without anyone knowing.  If you discover an unattended death please notify the proper authorities and call our office immediately for assistance.  You should never attempt to clean up this type of scene as there are high risks associated with blood and bodily fluids.

Discovering a death is usually very traumatic for the individual and Bio Scene Clean Up technicians assist you with the cleanup and removal of all biohazard materials to return the site to a safe environment.  Without proper training, you place yourself and others at risk for potential transmission of viruses and disease. Even the smallest traces of blood and other matter can carry living virus and bacteria for weeks to even months after a person has died.

Our company maintains the necessary certifications and qualifications to ensure that the trauma scene will be completely restored to a safe, sanitary environment. We are experienced in dealing with State and Federal protocols to make certain you are safe and protected.

If you or someone you know discovers an unattended Bio Scene Clean Up can help. We offer 24/7 technician dispatch and serve Central West Coast of Florida including Tampa Bay and Sarasota. Visit our website at http://www.bioscenecleanup.com for complete details about the services we offer.

Call Bio Scene Clean Up for blood spills, crime and trauma cleanup

Summary

Blood is most commonly referred in the context of human beings. Human blood has a complex combination and can potentially transmit infections or virus. Blood spills are common either due to an accident, trauma, crime or even suicide. These  situations demand special attention and professional biohazard companies to clean up the site.

Risk of exposure to blood and need for caution

For many allied healthcare professionals, it is part of their work profile to deal with blood spills and subsequent clean –up as and when it is required. Apart from the healthcare professionals, who are trained and aware of standard Blood Clean-Up protocols, it is important that you know the intricacies of handling spilled blood. Before understanding the clean-up process and acquiring the knowledge about the equipment or accessories used in the process, it is important to know the basic risk of exposure to blood. Everyone who is being exposed to blood should consider that it can possibly be the carrier of any dreadful disease such as Hepatitis B or HIV, think as though every drop of blood carries risk of dreadful disease. This impression is not to get into the fear psychosis, rather to be cautiously aware of the risk involved.

Bio Scene Clean Up maintains the experience and equipment necessary for the cleanup of scenes that contain blood spills and other bodily fluids. Every municipality has a standard protocol for the cleanup, handling and disposal of biohazard waste and materials. An untrained or inexperienced person should never attempt to clean up an accident or trauma scene using ordinary cleaning methods.  This type of cleanup may spread any harmful bacteria, pathogens or viruses and cause potential health risks to yourself or anyone around the site.

Cleaning up of Blood Spills – various scenarios

There can be various situations during which blood spills occur, and subsequent cleaning up depends on the surroundings or the surfaces that need attention.

•    If it is a floor without carpets or maintains hard surfaces like tiles or concrete these areas may be easier to clean and there usually isn’t a need to remove these elements from homes. If carpet or other porous materials like wood are present, these elements almost always have to be removed to eliminate the risk of any transmission of biohazards to other areas.
•    If the trauma area is free from fabrics and other materials that collect, soak or hold any blood or fluid spills, then special equipment and industrial chemicals are used by our trained technicians in order to remediate the site to a clean and safe environment.

These are only a couple scenarios that show you why it’s never a good idea to attempt blood or biohazard cleanup yourself.  In most instances, there are many unknown facts about the victims of these traumas and the risk of compromising your health or those around you is simply too great.  If you need blood, accident or death cleanup, please contact our office immediately for assistance.

Drug biohazards inside our prison systems

Over the past decade illegal drug activity has reached an all time high. From sales on streets to manufacturing these drugs, the presence of biohazards is always consistently found.  Bio Scene Clean Up specializes in the cleanup and remediation of biohazards associates with blood, death, crime, trauma, illegal drugs and other biohazard waste disposal needs.

When you hear about illegal drug activity you usually associate it with people who are selling, using and manufacturing in ordinary neighborhoods, however there is an increasing amount of illegal drug activity happing inside of prison facilities all across the United States.  Certain drugs are simple to manufacture with things that are accessible to inmates, many of whom are incarcerated because of illegal drug convictions.

Due to the types of biohazards created by these drugs and the potential risks for compromising the health and safety of staff and other inmates, prisons have began contracting professional licensed biohazard companies like Bio Scene Clean Up to clean these scenes. We are called to clean and disinfect jails, police holding cells, transport units and other areas associates with police departments and prisons. Some incidents not relating to illegal drugs are blood from fights, vomit and other bodily fluids found in holding cells, police cruisers, transport vehicles and even emergency response units.  These areas must be properly cleaned and completely disinfected to ensure the safety of anyone coming in contact with the areas again.  All materials from the cleaning must be disposed of according to the guidelines of State and Federal regulations. Our company maintains the proper certifications and permits necessary to transport and dispose of these types of waste.

If police departments or prison personnel were given the task to cleanup and disinfect these areas it would require every member to be specifically trained to handle and dispose all forms of biohazards, and maintain licenses and permits. They must also house all of the industrial chemicals and equipment necessary to perform these tasks.  The cost for even one municipality to maintain these types of services is astronomical.  In addition to eliminating themselves from liability of the cleanup, the costs associated with these incidents are the main reasons police and prisons have began contracting professional companies to perform work.

Property owners unaware of dangerous biohazards

Over the past decade the failing real estate market has ruined many homeowners across the country.  With the market decline and unemployment being at an all time high, there has also been a significant increase in the amount of illegal drug activity in our country.

Homeowners have been forced to relinquish their homes to the bank or mortgage company due to inability to make payments. Some homeowners elected to rent out their properties to individuals to cover the cost of the mortgage in an attempt to not face the financial devastation.  What these homeowners turned landlords didn’t expect was the dangerous rise in drug activities that turned may ordinary residential properties into full blow meth labs and illegal drug houses.

Bio Scene Clean Up is experienced in the clean up, removal and remediation of these types of drug scenes. Not only is this type of activity illegal, there are extreme dangers to the health of anyone who comes in contact with these homes. The manufacturing of these substances ( or cooking as it’s sometimes called ) are not only hazardous to the health of the occupants, but animals, residents in the immediate surrounding areas and even the clean up personnel that have to restore these scenes to a safe environment.  The chemicals and methods used to manufacture these types of drugs are extremely flammable and one small explosion can blast through walls causing destruction to anything in it’s path.

Clean up of these biohazard substances and chemicals should never be attempted by an untrained individual. Bio Scene Clean Up is certified in the removal and disposal process associated with these biohazards.  Our technicians are specifically trained to clean and disinfect all areas that have been affected by the chemicals, residue and paraphernalia that always remain in these homes.  We work closely with authorities and property owners to ensure that these homes are returned to a safe environment for the owner, surrounding neighbors and anyone who may come in contact with the property after our work is done.

Due to the severity of these types of chemicals and substances, it’s often necessary for our technicians to remove materials from the structure such as plumbing, flooring, walls and other items and dispose of the materials properly. We work directly with our contractors to ensure that these homes are restored to a pre-incident, safe condition.

If you own or manage a property that has been condemned because of illegal drug manufacturing or activity, please contact our office today for assistance.  We offer 24 hour dispatch and are able to respond immediately to help you ensure the safety of anyone affected by these incidents.

Who are Crime Scene Cleaners ?

Who is responsible for the cleanup of Crime, Death, Trauma, Suicide and other Biohazard scenes is often not thought about.  We all see the news or hear about these victims and sometimes horrific things happening, but the thought of who actually cleans up or decontaminates these types of scenes is not thought about.

Who are these people? What are their lives like? And How do they do this type of work? Are the questions that may come to mind when reading this article.  Bio Scene Clean Up is trained in the clean up and decontamination of these types of biohazards, returning the scene to the normal state it was prior to the incident occurring.

For over a decade, we’ve been responsible for cleaning thousands of scenes ranging from suicide, gunshots, stabbings, violent home intrusions, vehicular accidents and even jail cells or police cars that contain blood, urine, feces and other biohazards. We are specifically trained in the removal, cleaning, disinfecting and sometimes remodeling that is necessary to restore these scenes.  After authorities and medical personnel are gone, it’s typically the property owners responsibility to clean up the aftermath of the incident.  As we’ve discussed in previous articles, this poses a significant health threat to the person cleaning and also those around or in contact with a contaminated scene. Special precautions must be followed, equipment used and waste properly disposed (often times with special permits) in order to ensure the safety of all involved.

Bio Scene Clean Up offers professional, compassionate services that aide property owners in cleaning and remediation of any form of biohazard. Our trained technicians can assist property owners with the necessary paperwork for insurance claims and can provide remodeling services for scenes that require physical elements to be permanently removed from a location. We have experience working in maximum security environments and are skilled at minimizing the visual exposure to onlookers or public when necessary.

Biohazard technicians that clean these types of scenes for a living are unique individuals who are passionate about helping clients through a very traumatic time. They are dedicated in restoring scenes to safe environments and protecting the people involved.  These cleaners see sometimes horrible scenes and visually experience things that no one should ever have to see.  Every technician is different and deals with the afterthoughts of their job in different ways. In many ways they are just like everyone else, but in their own way are often quiet in nature, reserved and don’t talk about the work that they do. It’s hard not to have emotional challenges when seeing some of the scenes that require our services but in most cases the desire to help our clients through the trauma and return their lives to some form of normalcy helps negate their emotional states.

Is there a common connection in Bankers committing suicide?

In the 1930’s bankers who committed suicide were commonly known as “jumpers” as the fought to maintain the pressures of failing businesses. It’s the same cliché today, so is there a common connection? Large public polls show that the general population are angry at large banks who were bailed out during our economic collapse (much like they are at congress).

Most bankers start their career at a very early age and fight to rise to the top of their industry. If they only knew that their rise to the top only numbered their days.  It’s a stressful and very volatile position that can take its toll on the mental state of mind of these professionals, and the common and unfortunate end result seems to be suicide.

Bio Scene Clean Up gets calls to perform the clean up and bio-hazardous remediation in scenes like this frequently.  Suicides (accidents in the workplace) are more common than anyone would imagine. Our technicians are experienced in trauma, death, suicide and murder / crime scenes.  From blood removal, to clean up of bodily fluids and matter, we perform these tasks discreetly and with the utmost confidentiality. We realize the importance of restoring these scenes and getting the area back to a normal, functioning condition as soon as possible.  It’s an emotional time and we work diligently to provide expedient services that do not impede the normal business activities.

These cases are all sad and tragic incidents and Bio Scene Clean Up is experienced in working with authorities and professionals in work places to help keep the trauma of co-workers or co-tenants to a minimum, while resorting the accident scenes.  We provide 24 hour, 7 day per week emergency dispatch to these types of scenes.

Because of the recent rise of suspected and know suicides among banking executives, we have to wonder what the direct relating cause is.  Recently, more and more larger financial institutions have insisted on executives taking more time off and providing better working conditions and benefits for their employees. Our company is always disturbed by receiving calls to scenes of such promising, often very young victims of suicide.

For more information on suicide preventions, please refer to the National Suicide Prevention LifelineContact our office for more information about the services we provide and how we can help.

Florida crimes and stupidity, what should you know?

Crimes in our local Florida cities can be chilling and in certain instances turn deadly for victims. The ironic part is that most crimes, even severe ones start out with a stupid idea and a dumb criminal who never intended for the crime to become violent.

Florida has seen it’s fair share of stupid crimes lately from a man hiding in a freezer to rob a local Checkers restaurant to a burglar found trapped in a pizza oven vent begging for help.  These crimes are bizarre and happened to end without incident, but some victims of crime are not always that fortunate.

Bio Scene Clean Up receives frequent calls to clean up and remediate biohazard crime scenes. Some violent, and others drug related or just destructive. No matter the case our company offers crime and trauma scene clean up services. We are experienced at blood and biohazard clean up and removal. We are perform disinfecting and debris removal from crime scenes that are left with huge messes.
Bio Scene Clean Up works with police and local authorities to ensure the property owners safety and restoration is done according to state and federal regulations.  We have 7 day per week -  24 hour emergency dispatch to service our Florida communities. If you or someone you know are responsible for cleaning a crime scene, we suggest that you always hire a professional company who is trained to clean these scenes.  There are several elements of crime scenes that may contain contaminants that are harmful to you and without proper precaution you are placing yourself and others at risk.

If you are not familiar with regulations and permits pertaining to these types of cleanup jobs, you may find yourself facing stiff penalties for not following proper protocol.  Certain insurance policies pay for professional clean up of these scenes and there are other organizations who may be able to assist if you are the victim of a crime. Bio Scene Clean Up is familiar with these processes and can assist you with the documentation required to file a claim or in reaching out to organizations who may be able to assist you.

Contact our office for more information on how our services can help you when being faced with this type of dilemma.

Why the costs of Murder and Violent Crime Scene Cleanup are expensive.

If someone dies as a result of a violent crime, murder or suicide in a residence or place of business, the burden of clean up typically falls on the property owner. Obviously this is a traumatic task that few people are willing to undertake themselves. But why are the costs for cleanup of these scenes so expensive?

Biohazard cleanup companies like Bio Scene Clean Up guarantee the scene will be restored to it’s original pre-incident state after the victim has been removed from the scene.  There are several factors that determine the amount of time and services that our clients need. These factors are usually:
•    How long was the death unattended
•    Where it happened
•    What type of scene it is (How it happened)
•    What elements are in the scene where it occurred

If the body was in a decomposing state when removed, the cleanup is even more challenging because insects move into the body after death and may still be in the scene area after the body is removed by a coroner.  It’s customary to also have body fluids, liquefied skin and organ tissues that have soaked into carpeting, flooring or other surfaces in contact with the scene. The most difficult task is generally remediation of the smell from the scene as the body will release ammonia gases that permeate these areas and can linger for months.

Our technicians are required to wear protective suits and respirators and utilize OSHA and EPA compliant chemicals to decontaminate these areas. Special equipment is used and all waste materials must be properly placed in safety sealed bags and disposed of. This usually requires obtaining permits from local officials with specific directives on how the waste is to be transported and disposed.  Sometimes, medical-waste incinerators need to be used for this type of disposal.

Once the initial cleaning has been performed, it is necessary for Bio Scene Clean Up to inspect every detail of these scenes utilizing special instruments and equipment to search for even the smallest trace elements of contamination (not seen with the visible eye). This inspection helps determine if the scene will need our construction crews to remove flooring, walls, insulation or other structural materials in effort to ensure proper cleaning for the safety of our clients.

As you can see from just a few short paragraphs, bio hazard cleaning and decontamination of these types of scenes is more than a simple wash down with bleach. Obtaining permits, disposal charges, and construction costs are common factors that dictate what cleanup charges will be.

Depending on the circumstances, property owners may have coverage options through property insurance policies. In this regard, most companies will provide a service that handles all the paperwork for filing a claim. If insurance coverage is not available, they can also help their clients in contacting various charitable or religious organizations that can provide financial assistance.

As a company providing critical services for biohazard clean up in the Tampa Bay area, we appreciate the efforts of other organizations who help keep our oceans clean and safe for all to enjoy. We urge anyone, if able, to take part in this great event.

We would like to personally show our appreciation to Scott Lucci (World of Water, Incorporated), Anette Monroe (Gulfport Dive Center), and Al Jeffrey (Scuba Quest) who have graciously offered to provide tanks (or air) and dive gear for those who need it, if available.

If you find yourself in need of biohazard clean up services, please contact our office immediately to learn more about how we restore biohazard scenes to a clean, safe environment.

Florida Police and Emergency Clean Up and Decon Services

BioScene Clean Up, a Florida based crime and trauma scene clean up company also provides quick and effective clean up and decontamination services for jail cells, holding areas, evidence lockers, police and emergency vehicles. In the past it was ordinary practice for many police departments to require inmates to clean biohazard areas such as vehicles and jail cells.

Over the last few years these departments are changing their protocol regarding biohazard clean up and decontamination. Inmates who were previously required to perform these clean ups experienced exposure to all different types of biohazards and infectious pathogens.

Most departments now contract these clean us to a compliant professional service for the safety and protection of their staff and inmates. This also reduces the legal liability of someone being exposed to these dangerous biohazards.

BioScene Clean Up offers the following contracted services to Police Departments and Medical Service Providers:
Jail Cell & Holding Area Clean up – It’s imperative these areas are properly cleaned and disinfected immediately to avoid transmission of things like MRSA and other airborne pathogens, contact with blood in these area and other bodily fluids that may be present.
Police Vehicle Decontamination – After transporting an inmate, frequently there are bodily fluids like blood, vomit, urine and feces left behind. These vehicles must be cleaned immediately with proper chemicals and cleaning techniques to ensure the safety of the personnel. It’s our goal to clean these vehicles and returning them to service as quick as possible.
Emergency Vehicle Decontamination - Bodily fluids present a high risk to the health and safety of the people who travel in these vehicles due to the risk of infection and exposure to diseases such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV that can be contained within them and transferred. Therefore it is vital that these vehicles are cleaned and disinfected in order to minimize this risk.

Our technicians are accustomed to cleaning homicide/murder, suicide and unattended death scenes which are all extremely dangerous. Police and Emergency service clean up is as dangerous if not more because of the people in the affected areas most often times cannot be removed (Ex. Jails). Our staff is OSHA compliant and obtain the necessary credentials to work in these secure areas and follow strict protocol to ensure the safety of other inmates and personnel.

Contact our offices today in Tampa or St Petersburg to inquire about contracting our services. BioScene Clean Up services the entire State of Florida and may be reached 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We have an immediate response dispatch that can immediately send technicians to service your biohazard clean up and decontamination needs.

Fact: Auto Suicides and Accidents DO Contain Dangerous Bio-Hazards

Sadly, automobiles are a very common place for suicides. Even what seems to be a simple auto accident can cause contamination if there is a presence of blood and other fluids in the vehicle.  Each scenario is different and the process of cleaning and restoration can range from a simple high steam cleaning of the fabrics to a complex disassemble of the interior and replacement of affected components.

Vehicles that contain blood saturation most always need to be brought to the BioScene Clean Up facility where our team of professionals can dismantle the components in a clean, safe environment, properly clean and disinfect the areas and install the new replacement components to restore the vehicle to a safe condition.

Contrary to beliefs, you cannot simply extract blood using steam extraction methods.  Fabric areas affected by blood will need to be completely replaced. If even trace amounts of blood are not removed the site will remain hazardous, cause extreme odors and most probably attract bugs & insects.

We possess and maintain all of the necessary tools and equipment in our restoration facility to access the conditions and determine what components of the vehicle need to be replaced.  We then work to remove all contaminated materials for proper disposal and complete the restoration to a pre-incident condition.

Another misconception pertaining to accidents are contaminants found on a vehicles exterior.  Frequently, these accidents involve pedestrians and animals and can leave behind huge amounts of bio-hazardous contaminants on and underneath the vehicle.  These incidents must be handled the same way as an interior restoration and a full assessment must be made to determine the proper methods of cleaning.

BioScene Clean Up always suggests that you never attempt to clean a vehicle that contains these types of materials.  If proper procedures are not taken to restore the vehicle, it is often times extremely difficult for a professional to restore components that have been improperly cleaned or disinfected.  This leads to additional costs and replacement of components that may not be necessary if assessed and performed by a professional immediately after the accident.

Contact our offices today for more information on how BioScene Clean Up can help you properly clean your accident vehicle.
