Seasonal Death and Social Isolation

During the winter months our older generation experiences social isolation and feelings of disconnectedness due to not being able to be outdoors, lack of sunshine and the decrease of visits by family and friends. Unfortunately, the end result for many elders that experience this is death at home. In certain cases it is days or sometimes a couple of weeks before the death is discovered.

Bio Scene Clean Up performs death and decomposition clean up services for unattended deaths. When an unattended death occurs, the aftermath of the death scene is extremely traumatizing on the person who discovers the death. Blood, bodily fluids and other potentially hazardous pathogens can no longer be contained inside of the body as it begins to liquefy. This process begins in only a few short hours after death and the deceased can become unrecognizable in just a few short days.

Bio Scene Clean Up technicians are experienced in the clean up, removal and remediation of a death scene. It takes a person specifically trained in biohazard clean up to completely restore a property to a biohazard free state. You should never attempt to clean a death scene on your own.

Blood and bodily fluids, once outside the body become a breeding ground for infectious pathogens, attracts bugs and insects and in their dried state, it’s possible to ingest these harmful pathogens through normal breathing while cleaning the scene. Because the health conditions of the deceased is often not know, these scene become a liability to the property owner if an improper cleanup is performed and someone’s health becomes compromised.

If you own a property and are responsible for death scene or blood and biohazard cleanup, contact us immediately for professional, certified cleanup services.

Choosing the best Biohazard Cleanup Company

When choosing a biohazard cleanup company it’s imperative that you seek companies that are compliant with OSHA, EPA and State Environmental Agencies. Reputable companies like Bio Scene Clean Up maintain all certifications necessary for the cleanup, removal and disposal of biohazard materials from Death, Crime, Suicide and other Traumatic Events.

OSHA compliance simply means that the biohazard cleanup company adheres to the regulations in place to prevent injury and potential liability to all involved. Bio Scene Clean Up technicians are trained to handle cleanup of bloodborne pathogens and other potentially harmful biohazards. We use personal protective equipment and follow these regulations during a cleanup process.

Anytime there is the need for handling and disposal of biohazard, medial and bloodborne pathogen waste, there are certain Federal and State regulations that must be followed.  Not all biohazard cleanup companies are licensed to transport or handle these wastes so it’s essential that you understand if the company you choose is able to comply with these regulations.  Cleanup companies, as well as property owners can incur hefty fines for improper cleanup, handling and disposal of biohazard wastes.

In any form of biohazard cleanup, the company you choose must be trained in the proper use of equipment and cleaning agents that will help remediate a scene to a safe environment free of any biohazards. Even simple errors like improper dilution of cleaning agents can cause certain biohazards to remain active for days to even weeks after an incident occurs.

If you experience a death, violent crime, suicide or other traumatic incident that requires bioremediation, make certain the company you choose is able to deliver the proper information about their certifications, permits and other credentials that will prove to you they are capable of effectively performing the cleanup you need.  Bio Scene Clean Up readily provides all information necessary to help ensure the property owner that our cleanup services will be performed correctly.

The dangers of synthetic marijuana uses and who’s affected

Synthetic marijuana is marketed as a legal “high” in today’s society and the deaths and serious Illnesses from its use are on the rise.  Commonly called Spice, No More Mr. Nice Guy and K2 ( or hundreds of others ) these drugs are legally marketed for sale and can be obtained by most everyone in neighborhood convenience stores, smoke shops and other retailers across the US.

Although marketed as a legal marijuana in reality it’s very different from the natural cannabis that smokers enjoy.  The synthetic version contains powerful chemicals called “cannabimimetics” that can cause serious health effects and possibly death.  These drugs are not tested for safety and uses have no idea what they are putting into their bodies when using them.  In addition to the synthetic drugs being highly addictive, health effects from the drugs can be serious and possibly fatal and have symptoms including:

• Nausea and vomiting
• Increased heart rate and higher blood pressure
• Agitation and Anxiety
• Seziures, Tremors and muscle spasms
 •Hallucinations and psychotic episodes
 • Suicidal and harmful thoughts & actions

This drug is wreaking havoc on our youth especially and has been labeled by many state and federal government officials as a public health risk and a hazard to public safety.  There has been a huge influx of calls to poison centers in the past 2 years yet this drug remains an unattended problem.

Bio Scene Clean Up offers services that deal with the trauma and clean up of deaths associated from this and other drug uses.  We are also trained to clean up meth labs and other biohazard areas which may be contaminated by illegal drug manufacturing and the deaths and trauma associated with it.

If you know someone who is using this or other illegal drugs we urge you to seek help for these individuals immediately.  Should you find yourself in need of our decontamination, death or suicide clean up services, contact our office immediately. We have technicians standing by to provide services 24 hours a day 7 days per week.

Bioscene Clean Up offers Florida crime, trauma, death and even suicide clean up services.  We also provide hoarding, meth-lab and biohazard clean up services in effort to keep our Tampa Bay family and friends safe and biohazard free.

As residents of Tampa Bay, we often forget about the need for clean up and debris removal from our gulf waters.  As part of an ongoing effort to protect our ocean planet, Project Aware is helping support the Tampa Bay Watch’s Great American Cleanup 2014 at the Ft Desoto Bay Pier on March 15, 2014.

These organizations are in need of volunteers for this Diving Event.  All divers should be advanced open water divers with verifiable dives of at least 15 in their log book.  You can find more information on this event at TampaBayGreenConsortium.org or ProjectAware.org .

As a company providing critical services for biohazard clean up in the Tampa Bay area, we appreciate the efforts of other organizations who help keep our oceans clean and safe for all to enjoy. We urge anyone, if able, to take part in this great event.

We would like to personally show our appreciation to Scott Lucci (World of Water, Incorporated), Anette Monroe (Gulfport Dive Center), and Al Jeffrey (Scuba Quest) who have graciously offered to provide tanks (or air) and dive gear for those who need it, if available.

Florida Police and Emergency Clean Up and Decon Services

Photo Courtesy of 10 News Tampa Bay
BioScene Clean Up, a Florida based crime and trauma scene clean up company also provides quick and effective clean up and decontamination services for jail cells, holding areas, evidence lockers, police and emergency vehicles. In the past it was ordinary practice for many police departments to require inmates to clean biohazard areas such as vehicles and jail cells.

Over the last few years these departments are changing their protocol regarding biohazard clean up and decontamination. Inmates who were previously required to perform these clean ups experienced exposure to all different types of biohazards and infectious pathogens.

Most departments now contract these clean us to a compliant professional service for the safety and protection of their staff and inmates. This also reduces the legal liability of someone being exposed to these dangerous biohazards.

BioScene Clean Up offers the following contracted services to Police Departments and Medical Service Providers:
Jail Cell & Holding Area Clean up – It’s imperative these areas are properly cleaned and disinfected immediately to avoid transmission of things like MRSA and other airborne pathogens, contact with blood in these area and other bodily fluids that may be present.
Police Vehicle Decontamination – After transporting an inmate, frequently there are bodily fluids like blood, vomit, urine and feces left behind. These vehicles must be cleaned immediately with proper chemicals and cleaning techniques to ensure the safety of the personnel. It’s our goal to clean these vehicles and returning them to service as quick as possible.
Emergency Vehicle Decontamination - Bodily fluids present a high risk to the health and safety of the people who travel in these vehicles due to the risk of infection and exposure to diseases such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV that can be contained within them and transferred. Therefore it is vital that these vehicles are cleaned and disinfected in order to minimize this risk.

Our technicians are accustomed to cleaning homicide/murder, suicide and unattended death scenes which are all extremely dangerous. Police and Emergency service clean up is as dangerous if not more because of the people in the affected areas most often times cannot be removed (Ex. Jails). Our staff is OSHA compliant and obtain the necessary credentials to work in these secure areas and follow strict protocol to ensure the safety of other inmates and personnel.

Contact our offices today in Tampa or St Petersburg to inquire about contracting our services. BioScene Clean Up services the entire State of Florida and may be reached 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We have an immediate response dispatch that can immediately send technicians to service your biohazard clean up and decontamination needs.

Fact: Auto Suicides and Accidents DO Contain Dangerous Bio-Hazards

Sadly, automobiles are a very common place for suicides. Even what seems to be a simple auto accident can cause contamination if there is a presence of blood and other fluids in the vehicle.  Each scenario is different and the process of cleaning and restoration can range from a simple high steam cleaning of the fabrics to a complex disassemble of the interior and replacement of affected components.

Vehicles that contain blood saturation most always need to be brought to the BioScene Clean Up facility where our team of professionals can dismantle the components in a clean, safe environment, properly clean and disinfect the areas and install the new replacement components to restore the vehicle to a safe condition.

Contrary to beliefs, you cannot simply extract blood using steam extraction methods.  Fabric areas affected by blood will need to be completely replaced. If even trace amounts of blood are not removed the site will remain hazardous, cause extreme odors and most probably attract bugs & insects.

We possess and maintain all of the necessary tools and equipment in our restoration facility to access the conditions and determine what components of the vehicle need to be replaced.  We then work to remove all contaminated materials for proper disposal and complete the restoration to a pre-incident condition.

Another misconception pertaining to accidents are contaminants found on a vehicles exterior.  Frequently, these accidents involve pedestrians and animals and can leave behind huge amounts of bio-hazardous contaminants on and underneath the vehicle.  These incidents must be handled the same way as an interior restoration and a full assessment must be made to determine the proper methods of cleaning.

BioScene Clean Up always suggests that you never attempt to clean a vehicle that contains these types of materials.  If proper procedures are not taken to restore the vehicle, it is often times extremely difficult for a professional to restore components that have been improperly cleaned or disinfected.  This leads to additional costs and replacement of components that may not be necessary if assessed and performed by a professional immediately after the accident.

Contact our offices today for more information on how BioScene Clean Up can help you properly clean your accident vehicle.
