Biohazard Cleanup from Suicide

Numerous factors attribute to the cause of suicides and a large majority would say that it can be attributed to the economic meltdown in our country over the past several years.  Bio Scene Clean Up provides suicide cleanup services throughout the entire State of Florida. The health and overall fitness of the baby boomer generation has deteriorated greatly and a large number of these statistics indicate that the victims were medically ill, taking depression medication, suffered general health insufficiency, on disability and overwhelmed with credit card and other types of debt.

General consensus is that the victim’s life now “Isn’t what they envisioned” it would be at this age. Most of these people were in young adulthood in the 1960’s and 1970’s and that was an era that people were much more in tune with others and people helped other people.  Today, it’s a dog eat dog world motivated by money and the quest to “achieve” and the children and long time friends of the baby boomers are no exception.

The increased suicide rates are ordinarily male, elderly and alone with health and financial issues.  Because of social isolation and the feeling of being alone and abandoned, these victims take their life as they don’t see an importance in “fighting the fight” to survive in the world any longer.

Bio Scene Clean Up gets frequent calls to provide death clean up services for families of suicide victims.  Many of the scenes we’re called to clean are unattended death scenes where no one knew that the victim had been dead for days, and in certain cases weeks to months.  We are certified in these types of cleanup jobs in the entire State of Florida.

Contact our office today to learn more about the services that our company provides and our service areas. We perform biohazard clean up services in both commercial and residential settings with immediate technician dispatch 7 days per week.  Our main goal is to help victims of tragedies such as these return their properties to a safe, habitable condition so they can move forward without additional trauma from the scene cleanup.

Death Scene Cleanup and Biohazards

Any time someone dies it can be a difficult and emotional time. It’s even harder if the body was unattended at the time of death as it only adds complication and trauma to the situation.  If you happen to be the unfortunate one to discover the death, it’s important to know that you need a professional bio-hazard cleaning service.

Unattended death can be a very hazardous situation.  Most often times the scene contains urine, feces, blood and other bodily fluids and all are in a state of decomposition.  This poses an extreme risk of exposure to infectious diseases and individuals who are not properly trained can be exposed to infectious diseases.  Decomposing body fluids can contain germs, active disease and bacteria for a  very long time.  Even if an untrained cleaner wasn’t exposed to these elements, the EPA and OSHA have strict regulations on the cleaning and disposal of these types of bio-hazardous materials.

It is also common for the scene of an unattended death to have extreme odors that will remain even after removing the body.  These odors cannot be extinguished by ordinary household cleaners. These household cleaners will mask the odor temporarily only for them to return a few hours later.  Bio Scene Clean Up utilizes equipment to permanently remove these odors from effected materials. The chemicals we use are designed to neutralize odors at the molecular level so they won’t return.  We are also dedicated to ensuring the safety of anyone associated with this type of scene.  We cannot stress how important it is to hire a professional biohazard clean up company to perform this work.

Bio Scene Clean Up is fully equipped to handle unattended death clean up scenes. We maintain the equipment and advanced training to properly handle the scene of an unattended death.  Our cleaning technicians are professional and have the utmost compassion when dealing with the details of these tasks. We understand what a difficult time it is and work efficiently to clean and restore a home to its original state.  Bio Scene Clean Up also offers additional services that can assist you in cleaning debris, clutter and other items from these scenes.  Please contact us for more details.

Biohazardous Waste Cleaning & Disposal Services

Bio Scene Clean Up provides removal and disposal of biohazard waste from numerous scenes such as crime, death, trauma, suicide and even from medical facilities or companies who do not possess the means to dispose of biohazard waste.

There are several types of waste as well as different means of handling and disposal of each. When we perform cleanup and disposal services we are trained to completely remove all traces of biohazards, blood and bodily fluids. Depending on the type of site being cleaned we sometimes have to remove furniture, structural elements and even dirt or soil from affected areas.

Blood and other pathogens, when leaked outside of the human body, if infectious, can carry harmful pathogens for days to weeks. Most people don’t realize that even in soil these biohazards can still pose a great danger to anyone who comes in contact with the site. Our trained professionals use state of the art equipment for discovering blood and other matter that can be hazardous and follow strict protocols that are set by State and Federal authorities for the clean up process.

In addition to the normal clean up services for blood and bodily fluids, we also provide cleanup for emergency transport vehicles, jail cells, police cruisers and even workplace accident scenes. We provide biohazard remediation to any area that may contain a potential hazard of being harmful to others. These scenes, if not properly cleaned, may also have future problems such as odors, insect infestations, and infectious diseases that can appear days, weeks or even several months after an incident.

If you experience a traumatic incident or are exposed to a situation that requires blood, bodily fluid or other form of biohazard cleanup, contact us immediately for assistance.  There are too many potential dangers involved in attempting the cleanup yourself so make certain you hire a certified biohazard cleaning expert like Bio Scene Clean Up.

Your loved one has signed a Do Not Resuscitate Order also known as a DNR. They have decided to take the natural progression into their next life and are requesting that this transition takes place in the comfort, peace and tranquility of their own home.  Knowing before the death will certainly give you time to brace yourself for the shock that comes with  loosing a loved one. Dealing with the death of a friend or loved one is traumatic enough without having the worry of cleaning up biohazard materials that remain after a person dies.

A number of steps must occur after your loved one has passed on.  First, you must call  911 and report the death to the police. The police will investigate the death scene, and the determination as to whether an autopsy is required or not.  When the police have determined that a homicide has not taken place and release the body, you may call funeral home personnel to remove the body and transport for the impending funeral.

Now that the body has been removed from the home, there are traces of pathogens and other biohazards that can be extremely harmful to you if the proper cleanup protocol is not followed.  Bio Scene Clean Up is experienced in the clean up and removal of biohazard materials, waste, blood and other trauma scene materials. The wrong way to discard biohazard waste

Most people recognize that there are proper procedures that must be followed in transporting and discarding of medical waste.  Occasionally there are some that either choose to ignore the procedures or are simply not educated on the disposal process and don’t realize they are doing anything wrong.

Bio Scene Clean Up provides commercial and residential cleanup services for death, crime, trauma, suicide and other biohazard incidents. Almost every clean up job that we perform contains biohazard waste that much be properly contained, transported and disposed of.  Regulations for biohazard protocols vary by state and can carry sever fines and penalties if not followed.

What you see in this article image is never the proper way to dispose of biohazard waste. Luckily, in this instance, these bags contain regular trash and paper from an office. You should never use biohazard waste bags as normal trash bags.  Red bags marked with a biohazard emblem found like this should be reported to the local health authorities who will investigate to determine who is responsible for the improper disposal and what type of biohazards they actually are.

Biohazard waste that we work with most is any liquid or solid waste that may present a threat of infection to humans. Liquid waste includes blood and other body fluids from humans. Solid waste includes clothing, towels, rags, sheets, gloves, plastic bags, or any objects soiled with blood, or other body fluids. When biohazard waste is improperly managed , it places sanitation workers and the general public at risk for contracting dangerous diseases. We take every precaution and are certified in the handling, transporting and disposal of biohazard waste.  We always suggest that you never attempt to clean these types of scenes yourself as there are very high chances that these scenes contain blood and other pathogens that can be extremely harmful if you come in contact with them.  Most state regulations suggest that you contact a biohazard clean up provider like Bio Scene Clean Up to assist you.

If you see disposal like the one pictured above, of suspect that someone is illegally disposing of biohazard materials, we urge you to contact your local health agency (health department) or contact our office to report it.  If this type of disposal process continues, you may be placing your health and the health of others in jeopardy.
