How to select a good biohazard cleanup company

Having been in the Crime Scene and biohazard clean up industry for over a decade, Bio Scene Clean Up has worked hundreds of clean up scenes. Surprisingly, several of the jobs performed were as a result of non-reputable cleaning companies who did not follow proper protocols and techniques when cleaning these scenes.

If crime, trauma, suicide and other biohazard scenes are not properly cleaned, weeks, months, and even a year later clients have reported horrible odors, infestations of bugs, stains and other problems that all stem from the fact that the original cleaning company did not properly remediate.

How do you know if you are hiring a legitimate clean up company?  There are a few things to look for when selecting a company. Bio Scene Clean Up has built a reputation following these same tips.

1. Search for a company that holds certifications in biohazard cleaning.

2. Ask your law enforcement of grief management staff at the scene who they would suggest.

3. Ask the company for references from other clients they’ve worked for.  Individuals may not feel comfortable sharing their experience, but a reputable company should be able to provide you with references of companies, apartment managers and other industrial business owners who have used the company’s services.

4. Ask the company representative if they are familiar with working with insurance claims and what happens if the insurance company denies the claim. If they aren’t familiar then chances are they aren’t certified, will cut corners and discount the price greatly. (Referencing the jobs we perform after these companies provide inadequate services)

5. Pay attention to the compassion of the person you are interviewing to hire. Larger national companies do not always provide the best service.  Locally owned companies that are certified and have a small staff usually do this type of work because they are compassionate about the clients and have a desire to ensure the safety and good health of their community.  You should be able to tell if the person is just working a job, or if they are professional, compassionate and relate to your level of grief and concern.

Not all companies are the same. Building a reputation in the biohazard clean up industry takes hard work, dedication and it’s not something that just anyone can do.  Bio Scene Clean Up has provided these professional, compassionate services for over a decade throughout Florida.  We’ve worked on hundreds of jobs relating to death, trauma, suicide, meth labs, hoarding, animals, gross filth and negligence and more. Contact our office immediately if you have a situation that requires this type of cleaning.  Never attempt to clean these scenes on your own. It will put your health and the health of others at a much greater risk.

Biohazard Cleanup Tampa, FL

Bio Scene Clean Up provides biohazard cleanup services in Tampa, FL and surrounding cities.  Our most common biohazard cleanup jobs include microbes, biohazards and pathogens related to blood but there are many other forms of biohazards that pose a risk to someone’s health everywhere you look. Microbes is simply another name for microorganisms. Biohazards are infectious agents or dangerous biological materials that present a risk or potential risk to human health. Pathogens are germs that can cause disease.

Bio Scene Clean Up is experienced in cleanup and removal of biohazards from incidents related to death, crime, trauma, suicide and more. Because these types of traumatic incidents often do not allow us to know the health conditions of the people involved it is necessary for a processional Tampa Biohazard Cleanup company to perform the task of safely eliminating any traces of biohazards from incident sites.

It is probable that most biohazard sites contain trace elements of potentially harmful pathogens that cannot be seen with the human eye and have been spread to other non-incident related areas unintentionally by investigators or emergency personnel. Bio Scene Clean Up utilizes industrial equipment, chemicals and certified cleanup practices to properly remediate these scenes. Our company holds the necessary permits and certifications to clean, handle and dispose the elements associated with our Tampa Biohazard Cleanup jobs.

Bio Scene Clean Up  provides cleaner and safer environments with our biohazard cleanup methods. We are able to assist our clients with insurance claims filing, or other document processes for agencies that assist victims of crimes and trauma with the costs associated with biohazard cleanup services in Tampa. If you or someone you know find yourself being responsible for the cleanup of a crime, death, suicide or trauma scene contact us immediately. Improper cleanup and uncontrolled biohazards can potentially cause illness and spread disease. If you are not qualified to clean a biohazard scene, you may be putting yourself and others at serious risk for compromised health issues.

Biohazard Cleanup Rises with the increase of S.A.D.

Seasonal Affective Disorders (S.A.D.) affect thousands of Americans each year.  Although common with each season, winter seems to have the highest increase in suicide and deaths related to S.A.D.  Bio Scene Clean Up provides cleanup and restoration for suicide, death, trauma, crime and other biohazard scenes throughout the Northeastern United States.

Because S.A.D. is very common and has a direct relation to depression, researchers at the National Institute for Mental Health (NIMH) have linked the increase of cases in the winter season to be that of decreased light, temperatures and other weather related elements that cause S.A.D. patients to become confined to indoor spaces during this season. Suicide cleanup is the most frequent calls we receive during these times. Although depression worsens during the holiday seasons the death and suicides are most often related to reclusive tendencies caused by weather.

During this season, in particular, it’s important that we realize the complications that these patients and our elderly populations face and do what we can to make sure that they receive human interaction, frequent visits and participate in activities that keep their minds active. In the majority of jobs that we perform, we learn that the victims are often alone and receive no visitors or have no human interaction for weeks at a time.  This is also difficult for biohazard cleaning companies like Bio Scene Clean Up because we frequently cleanup unattended death scenes where the deceased isn’t discovered for days or weeks at a time.

Unattended death scenes are not only emotionally difficult for the family and friends, but poses a huge risk for biohazard contamination and requires additional cleaning and  restoration of the scenes in order to completely return the property to a safe, inhabitable state.  Depending on the amount of time between the death and discovery, it is often necessary to remove major structural elements from the property in order to assure that all biohazards are completely removed.  This is a costly process that can cause even additional emotional distress on the victims families and friends that are responsible for the cleanup and restoration.

If you, or someone you know, has friends of relatives that you believe suffer from S.A.D, please do your best to ensure they have the care that is needed. If you experience a loss and need biohazard cleanup services, please contact our office immediately for assistance in cleaning up and maintaining the safety of all involved.

Red light camera accidents and the biohazards associated with them

In recent months the controversy has grown over whether or not red light cameras should be removed because of the amount of accidents and rear end collisions being caused by their presence. Bio Scene Clean Up provides blood and biohazard cleanup associated with accident scenes, trauma scenes and sites that contain medical biohazards and waste from police or emergency personnel.

When traffic accidents occur, emergency responders act very quick to attend to injuries and remove victims from harm. After the scene is cleared if there is a presence of blood, bodily fluids or medical waste, these hazards must be remediated. We are often called to accident scenes to handle these types of cleanup because we maintain the certifications and permits necessary to ensure proper site cleanup and are experienced in practicing thorough cleaning that assures the health and safety of others in or around the accident scene.

Most people don’t realize that accident scenes that contain blood spills and biohazards on surfaces like roadways, auto exteriors, in broken glass and other elements can be spread and carried distances by other vehicles, can affect cleanup crews, tow truck drivers and even onlookers who may be near the scene.  Wet blood can be sprayed on people if cars drive through it, tow truck drivers have to enter the interior of vehicles that contain possible infectious diseases from blood and bodily fluids and so on.

Bio Scene Clean Up technicians are experienced in many forms of blood and biohazard cleanup.  We provide services for Trauma, Death, Accident, Suicide, Crime and other potentially dangerous biohazard scenes. Serving the entire Tampa Bay and Sarasota, Florida areas we are specialists in insurance claims and assistance programs that aide victims of crimes and tragedies.

If you or someone you know experiences any form of blood, trauma, crime or death scene that requires cleanup, contact our team of professionals immediately for assistance. We offer fast response times, are police recommended and work discreetly to assist our clients in restoring these scenes to a safe condition as quickly as possible.

Ending Sexual Assault on College Campuses

Sexual assault is a terrible tragedy that happens to thousands of Americans each year. It’s an even more complex tragedy when it is happening more frequently on college campuses across the United States. For most people, the focus tends to be on the victim and the events surrounding the assault. These are very important factors in any assault case however, with every assault there is a huge biohazard potential associated with the crime. Bio Scene Clean Up provides biohazard decontamination from crimes of sexual assault, violent deaths, home invasions and other intense traumas.

After the crime is committed, the biohazards that remain cannot simply be “washed away”. Blood, tissues, bodily fluids and other matter always remain at the crime scene and these biohazards must be properly remediated to avoid the potential of infections and contamination of others.  When sexual assault crimes are committed on college campuses (dorm rooms, public facilities to name a few) it’s important that these scenes be properly cleaned and disinfected. The areas are typically ones that many people are in or around and the risks and health hazards associated with these crimes puts the universities at huge risk for health issues and safety of other students.

Bio Scene Clean Up maintains all necessary permits and certifications to properly clean, disinfect and remove all biohazard materials associated with these and other crime scenes.  We realize that these crimes traumatize many people and work discreetly and professionally to return the sites to a safe, sanitized area as soon as possible.  Each State maintains strict local and federal protocols for proper cleanup and biohazard handling. We arrive on scene with the proper equipment and materials, secure the site to avoid contamination spreading and completely restore the site to a pre-incident, safe condition.

If you are an administrator of faculty member of a College or University, please make sure that you have proper biohazard  handling protocols in place. If not,  create one and include Bio Scene Clean Up as the company to contact for all biohazard cleanup and removal needs that arise.
